Martha Stewart has long been a central figure in American culture. But her new Netflix documentary, “Martha,” sheds new light on the lifestyle guru’s personal life.
In it, fans watch as Martha opens up about her struggles as a young mother, the pain of divorce, and the insider trading scandal that led to her incarceration. But many have also noticed how healthy and glowing he looks now, at 83 years old.
Martha seems to be at the top of her fitness game right now, even posing for Sports Illustrated last year. So what does Martha do for training? Here’s what she shared:
Martha does Pilates three times a week.
Martha likes to train early in the morning. That means she leaves the house by 6:15 a.m. for Pilates classes three times a week, she told Women’s Health last year.
“At that time, it was just us (the instructor and I) (in the studio),” Martha said. “No one else wakes up this early.”
In January, Martha took to Instagram to share a video of herself giving the reformer a Pilates workout. “It’s harder and more effective than it looks!!” she wrote in the caption.
She is also a fan of yoga.
In addition to Pilates, Martha also loves yoga, adding that she is a “strong believer” in exercise.

After she appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, people flooded Martha’s Instagram comments with questions about how she looks so beautiful in her 80s. In a comment on one post, she wrote: “I do Pilates three times a week and eat very well. I go horseback riding at least once a week. I don’t smoke. I drink a little green juice every day.”

Martha later shared a green juice recipe on TikTok that uses pears, celery, cucumber, parsley, ginger, and orange.
Naturally, Martha also makes a lot of her own food. She tells WH that she likes to start her day with a green juice and cappuccino and have homemade Greek yogurt and honey (or a bowl of oats and skim milk) for breakfast.
Lunch is usually to-go and may include oshinko (pickled vegetables), oshishi (spinach salad), miso soup, and sushi.
She also grows many crops at home and regularly shares the results on Instagram.
