West Philadelphia residents are invited to The Lawn at uCity Square (37th and Filbert) on Saturday, October 19th for a day filled with live music, fitness activities, and community engagement. Open Sweat Jam West Philadelphia Community Music & Fitness Festival, held from 12:00pm to 7:00pm, promotes health and civic responsibility.
The festival will feature internationally renowned drummer Jeremy Boyd, also known as “Wheatbread,” and Nate McIntyre, owner of West Philadelphia-based gym Bodyrock Boot Camp. , will feature Live Beats Fitness, an innovative fusion of live music and fitness. He gained national attention after appearing on Netflix’s hit show “Queer Eye.” Boogie Mandela, a Philadelphia-based rap artist, producer, and sound engineer, will also perform. Open Vibe Known for its pop-up open mic events, Boogie Mandela curate live music experiences that reflect the city’s vibrant and diverse underground music scene.
The festival will provide free shuttle service to the nearby early voting location at 4029 Market Street, just a 10-minute walk from the event. Attendees who vote or register to vote will receive special incentives, including entry into the Ultimate Philly Music & Fitness Raffle and access to the Open Sweat Jam & Jam Session featuring performances from festival artists. Shuttle service will operate from 12:00pm to 5:30pm and will feature live acoustic music to and from early voting locations.
The festival is designed to celebrate culture, health, and civic engagement in West Philadelphia. In addition to music and fitness, the event will also feature community booths, local vendors, and food trucks, making for a fun and engaging day for all ages.
