The Murray State Racers (9-5, 4-1 MVC) will host Drake (8-7, 4-0 MVC) and UNI (9-7, 4-0 MVC) and Missouri on the road. -Play a Valley Conference match.
The Racers came from behind to defeat Belmont (7-10, 2-3 MVC) in Tuesday night’s matchup and enter the conference opener as weekend winners with four of five games.
The Racers enter the weekend as one of the most efficient teams in the MVC, hitting .219 in the conference, tied with UNI.
Bailey Demier continues to be one of the best facilitators in the conference, leading the MVC with 9.63 assists per set. Ella Vogel was one of the most productive attackers in the conference, posting 4.13 kills per set second in the MVC. Dahlia Miller ranks third in the MVC and 10th nationally with 5.11 digs per set.
Drake improved to 4-0 in the MVC with 3-1 road wins over UIC and Valparaiso on Oct. 4 and 5.
Drake is led by outside hitter Macy Daufelt, who leads the team with 217 kills, and libero Jada Wills, who leads the MVC with 6.41 kills per set and 346 kills on the season.
The Bulldogs are one of the most formidable defensive teams in the conference, ranking second in the conference in digs with 17.57 digs per set and fifth in blocks with 1.93 per set.
UNI is now 4-0 in MVC play after defeating Valparaiso 3-2 and dominating UIC last weekend.
The Panthers led the conference in both assists and kills, averaging 12.82 and 13.81, respectively.
Kaci Rewerts currently leads the MVC with 1.25 blocks per set and 71 total. Kira Farato and Cassidy Hartman had 3.67 and 3.54 per set, fifth and sixth best in the MVC. Libero Erin Powers is averaging 4.61 digs per set and 263 total digs, which ranks sixth in the conference.
