Visit Owensboro has secured three national conferences to be hosted by the Group Travel family, an event that group officials say will benefit for years to come.
“This represents a major change in our sales strategy, specifically targeting successful meeting planners across various market segments. We are drawing directly to Owensboro and we hope this will benefit us for years to come,” said Teresa Jones with Visit Owensboro.
According to its website, Group Travel Family provides valuable leads, sales, and reservations, helping more than 25,000 travel influencers connect with destinations, hotels, attractions, restaurants, and gaming partners.
The three conferences begin with the Select Travelers Conference, March 9-11, 2025. In late 2025, the Group Travel Conference will bring together the nation’s top group travel directors and influencers. In 2026, Owensboro will host the Small Market Summit, an event that brings meeting planners focused on smaller destinations and more intimate travel experiences to Owensboro.
“With the addition of these high-impact conferences, Owensboro is poised to gain even more prominence as a premier destination for meetings, conferences and group travel,” Jones said. “These events will drive tourism, generate business for local venues, and contribute to Owensboro’s continued growth as a top choice for travel influencers.”
