SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) – Multiple Utah highways are expected to face weather-related traffic disruptions Friday as a winter storm moves through the state.
Utah Department of Transportation officials said mountain snow that began falling Thursday will turn into a mix of rain and snow into Friday. Snow and snow flakes may fall on high-altitude routes.
Snow is expected between 7,000 feet and 9,000 feet, but the Wasatch Front may not see snow on roads, but there will be showers in the morning.
A wintry weather system is expected to bring showers to southeastern Utah over the weekend, with the storm expected to end by Sunday.
Most roads along I-15 and I-80 will remain wet until the storm subsides. Light slush is possible along I-15 and I-80 into Parley’s Summit Friday morning.
UDOT advised drivers to expect weather-related travel hazards along the following Utah roads on Friday:
