TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River Township has announced a Halloween Pet Costume Contest scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at Silverton Park. The event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., will feature a parade of costumed pets and prizes for the best-dressed participants.
The town’s announcement, shared via social media, emphasized that all pets must be leashed during the event. The park serves as a place for pet owners and their pets to show off their creative, festive costumes as part of the region’s seasonal celebrations.
Organizers said the contest aims to encourage families to get involved in the community and celebrate Halloween in unique ways. According to a social media post Thursday, the town added that “there will be prizes for the best-dressed pets.”
The Halloween Pet Costume Contest is expected to draw a significant turnout, reflecting local enthusiasm for the annual event. This year’s guidelines reiterate the emphasis on safety and proper pet management during festivals.
Silverton Park is located at 299 Silver Bay Road and interested participants are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot for the parade.
