TITUSVILLE, Fla. — A woman running for mayor of Titusville is facing charges after allegedly stealing a political sign from her front yard, police said.

On Wednesday, Titusville Police received a complaint from mayoral candidate Andrew Connors regarding the theft of campaign signs.
Connors claimed he had a photo of mayoral candidate Vicki Conkiln vandalizing a sign.

Police said investigators worked with Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanick and his office and the State Attorney’s Office to properly handle the allegations.
According to the police report, Conklin admitted to removing the sign after it was placed in front of the campaign location he planned to use the next day.

The report also said Conklin told police one of the signs read “Brevard Democratic Party” and that his photo and name were misspelled.
Conklin told the officers that he did not permit or support such signs and removed two signs from the location.

The State Attorney’s Office for the 18th Judicial Circuit confirmed to WFTV that the state has submitted information and requested the issuance of criminal subpoenas in the following cases:
Vicki Conklin – 1 count of petit larceny (M1)
Earl Johnson Jr. – 1 count of petit larceny (M1)
