Tiffany Howell, founder of Night Palm, a Los Angeles-based home design studio, created a gentle and inspirational space for two TV and film writers and their newborn son to create memories and create new stories. Our mission was to create a space that would give us the following.
The property in question was a 1930s Mediterranean Revival property in LA’s Hancock Park neighborhood. This was the perfect project for Tiffany. Because apart from her criteria of tailoring the interiors to be soothing and inspiring, she had full authority to express her vision.

Tiffany is a man of many talents and has had a multi-talented career, starting out as a music video producer. Before turning to the world of interiors, she also worked as a director for fashion photographer Herb Ritts. Today, her interior design caters to a portfolio of prestigious clients.

This project seemed like it was meant to be. When the opportunity arose, Tiffany was designing a nursery for a couple’s best friend who had just had a baby. It seemed like a coincidence.
A TV and film scriptwriter was also hoping, but the birth of a baby boy during the redesign process meant some for Tiffany, who had to carefully schedule her work schedule to avoid nap-time noise. An issue has arisen.

Dubbed Villa Greco, the home features a layout that stays true to its Mediterranean design roots, with a rectangular floor plan and lush gardens. Designed to help you forget the glitz and glamor of L.A., Tiffany’s plans evoke a romantic European atmosphere, adding a modern twist to the serenity and elegance of the 17th and 18th centuries.
The reception room has French doors opening onto the greenery along the first floor. “This home is an evocative and warm space that recalls a timeless Italian villa,” says Tiffany. A harmonious palette of soft blues, greens, and golds evokes the smoky atmosphere of Call Me by Your Name, director Luca Guadagnino’s 2017 film set in a 17th-century villa in Italy’s Lombardy region. It reflects the color.

Regarding the interior aesthetic, Tiffany also drew inspiration from Gucci’s iconic floral editorials to decorate each of the different areas in a sophisticated and eye-catching manner. “I wanted this space to have a very cinematic and romantic feel to provide inspiration for the owners,” she says.
The combination of textures and natural motifs brings sophistication to the whole. To create the feeling of being part of a forest, the walls of the main living space are covered in wallpaper reminiscent of 17th-century tapestries, blending seamlessly with the vegetation beyond the windows.

Sculpture-like light fixtures were placed throughout the space like jewels. In the dining area, vintage 1940s chairs create a striking and harmonious contrast with the vintage Murano crystal chandelier and moody walls. Overall, it weaves a tapestry of comfort and chic, highlighted by enchanting touches of gold and amber.
The reading room recreates the atmosphere of a Scottish castle with deep green tones. A combination of mirrors and colors reminiscent of “Sleeping Beauty” creates a modern appeal while continuing a journey into another era. Tiffany did a great job of giving each area its own personality, while still making them feel like they flow together.

In contrast to the predominantly moody atmosphere, the kitchen features an earthy plaster pink, creating a cozy atmosphere with elegant Shaker-style cabinetry. Tiffany has always strived to create interactive sensory experiences through design, and this renovation has done just that.
Purposeful visuals and rich materials complemented by botanical and floral scents bring everything into place in a kind of poetic alchemy. This home feels exactly as the owners dreamed it to be, a balance of exquisiteness and functionality in every way.
