For the record, I still think it’s easier and safer to use microSD for Steam Deck’s storage needs. And two of the best, the Samsung Pro Plus and SanDisk Ultra, come with Prime Big Deal Days discounts, so that opinion still stands. . Still, I understand what you’re saying. When you hold a small screwdriver in your hand, everything starts to look like a small screw. So we understand if replacing the deck’s internal SSD, or indeed the Asus ROG Ally’s internal SSD, may prove too demanding.
Then take a look at the Crucial P310, which I added to my Best SSD list last week. I’m currently participating in a frivolous Prime Sale event. Specifically, Amazon UK has reduced the price of the 1TB model from £128 to £70, while the US discount is on the 2TB version, which drops from $265 to $168.

Performance-wise, there’s little to complain about with the P310. In our gaming load time test, it competed very closely with the more expensive WD Black SN770M, coming within seconds of WD’s premium drive. Originally a 256GB Steam Deck, you can also upgrade to the 512GB edition of Steam Deck OLED and ROG Ally. Replacing a handheld SSD is a more involved and delicate process than replacing a desktop drive, so make sure you have the right tools and a steady hand before making the switch.
Per Big Deals Day rules, you’ll also need an Amazon Prime account or Prime free trial. Sale ends tonight at midnight.
