TEMPLE, Texas — Brandi Reese, owner of Mobidog Pet Salon and Spa, is asking residents to gather supplies for pets affected by Hurricane Helen in North Carolina.
With her family safely in the area, Brandi saw the devastating aftermath through social media and felt she had to help.

“They’re like our children. They’re precious. I think it’s just heartbreaking to lose a pet there,” Reese said. “They are confused, scared and hungry. We can come together and make a difference with even the smallest donation. That is my goal.”
Brandi contacted a local animal shelter in North Carolina to see what supplies they needed. The reply was that anything would be helpful.

Brandi is accepting donations through Monday to facilitate collection at multiple locations, including MobiDog Pet Salon & Spa, Barks and Bliss Clinic, and Granny’s Shaved Ice. Items such as food, water and toys are greatly appreciated, Brandy stresses, and even small donations can make a big difference.
Steven Ortiz, a Central Texas resident, came forward to support Brandi’s efforts. After seeing her post on social media asking for her help, he offered to drive a truck full of donations to North Carolina.
“We have to find it in their hearts. We have to give it to everyone, just like God did to me. And we have to come together and say that we need help. You have to help people,” Ortiz said.
For those interested in donating, Brandi encourages you to stop by participating locations and donate whatever you can to help pets affected by the hurricane.
