Fitness giant Technogym this week announced the launch of a revolutionary new connected dumbbell set powered by AI.
Technogym Connected Dumbbells are designed for at-home strength training and pack 12 sets of weights into one size. The weight range is 2kg to 24kg (in 2kg increments), making it suitable for a wide range of home workouts. You can adjust the weight by rotating the handle, and the mechanism moves with a click.
I recently had the opportunity to try these out at Technogym’s flagship Mayfair store. Alongside some of the best treadmills like the Technogym Run, exercise bikes, and Technogym’s own expensive weight benches, these smart dumbbells caught my eye and I had to give them a try.
These dumbbells are smart thanks to built-in sensors that analyze your movements and track your performance, allowing you to adjust the weight, customize your workout, and improve your results.
Technogym AI Coach uses the data collected to select exercises and weights that are beneficial to you, tailored through the Technogym app.

Available now from Technogym’s UK website. Technogym’s Connected Dumbbells retail for £1,410. To that end, you can rest with the weights and included mounts to provide a workout tailored to your performance.
However, if you want the full experience, Technogym’s Connected Dumbbells+ cost £2,530. This gives you an AI-powered personalized resistance prescription and a super stylish Technogym stand for your weights. The felt drawer houses a foam roller, training mat, and 3 looped resistance bands to supplement your workout.
For that price, Technogym will also install the dumbbells in your home, assemble and set them up, and remove the packaging once you’re done.
Price aside, you’ll also need a Technogym Plus membership to get the full workout experience. It costs £8.99 per month or £89.99 per year and includes two months with your purchase.
Technogym’s Connected Dumbbells are scheduled to launch in the US and Australia in 2025 (pricing TBA). Currently available in the UK, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
For the new fitness trends of 2024, Technogym joins Kabata, a fitness group pioneering AI-powered dumbbell and home workouts. Technogym completely beat out Kabata at launch, but once Kabata actually arrives, prices should come down.
