BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Turn up the spookiness with some easy Halloween DIYs!
Hobby florist Rhiannon Whitney showed the trio how easy it is to put together flower arrangements.
This project requires:
-Flowers of your choice
– Halloween mugs, pots and other containers
-vinyl wrap
-Floral foam
-scissors
– Various Halloween decoration items such as plastic spiders, pumpkins, branches, etc.
-hot glue gun
-water
Whitney recommends starting with your favorite store-bought flowers.
She chose Mama because it’s the season and there are lots of fall colors.
“They have multiple stems, which is important because you just cut them up and use each one in a different section,” Whitney explained.
First, cut the floral foam to the size of the container, soak it in water, and place it inside.
“Make sure to put something like plastic wrap in it so it doesn’t run out everywhere,” Whitney added.
Cut the flower stems to your desired height and stick each flower into the foam, arranging it as you like.
“When I think of spooky flowers, I think of purple, yellow, and gold,” Whitney says.
Then comes the even creepier part.
Layer hot glue in the center of another dry foam block.
Press that foam onto another block of foam and pull it apart several times to create a spider web effect.
Place the spider web on top of the flower arrangement.
Finally, add your Halloween decorations to the arrangement.
It’s the perfect centerpiece!
