TACOMA, Wash. – Tacoma has solidified its appeal as a rising travel destination with a spot on Airbnb’s list of top destinations for winter 2024.
The announcement was made as part of Airbnb’s Winter Trends Report, which highlights where travelers are booking their winter vacations.
According to the report, Tacoma’s attractive combination of waterfront views, outdoor activities, and access to nearby mountains with winter sports make it an ideal destination for relaxation and adventure. Ta. Tacoma’s inclusion also aligns with a broader trend of travelers preferring outdoor, cold weather this winter, with five of the top 10 destinations on this year’s list located in colder regions.
In addition to Tacoma, the list also includes cities such as Indianapolis, Indiana. Oxford, Mississippi. and Indio, California. These trending spots reflect travelers’ growing interest in smaller, vibrant cities with unique offerings that differ from traditional big-city destinations.
Airbnb’s 2024 Winter Trends Report was released at the same time as the company’s winter product update, which features more than 50 upgrades aimed at making the travel experience more seamless. Key upgrades include personalized travel recommendations, search tips to find great deals, and support through the new Co-Host Network, a tool that connects homeowners with experienced hosts to manage their reservations. Includes expansions and more.
Tacoma’s selection as a top destination highlights its appeal beyond summer tourism. With easy access to Mount Rainier National Park and Puget Sound, the city is attracting more travelers seeking outdoor activities like hiking and waterfront exploration, even in the colder months.
The growing demand for accommodations in Tacoma presents a lucrative opportunity for local hosts. With interest in winter travel on Airbnb, Tacoma homeowners can leverage tools like the co-host network to generate additional income while meeting rising guest expectations.
