stilwerk Strandhotel Blankenese, color blocking exterior – interior photography by Brita SÖNNICHSEN c/o NERGER M&O
With 12 studios in the main building and three suites in the Captain’s Cottage, the boutique hotel’s interiors have been carefully selected, blending modern history and architectural subtleties throughout. The color palette, from dusty blue to sandy yellow, is inspired by the natural environment, and natural materials and handcrafted quality characterize the hotel’s interior concept.
A color-blocking look with different colors in each room of the hotel ensures a vibrant style. “Interiors should also be fun” is the motto of designer Carlotta Bott.
The interior images shown here were realized by photographer Brita SÖNNICHSEN from NERGER M&O. Styling by Yvonne Lindhorst.
This design hotel is a historic Art Nouveau villa in the elegant Blankenese district, 20 minutes from Hamburg city centre. This is outside the city, yet in the middle of the city. A space that inspires your health. Built in 1902, the listed Art Nouveau villa shines in clear white against the beautiful backdrop of the Blankeneser-Treppenviertel. Unique in Hamburg, this urban area has a Mediterranean feel, with its upper-class villas and picturesque fishermen’s huts. ” To quote Stillwerk.
For more than 25 years, stilwerk has shaped the German interior world as a platform for design, art, culture and living. Our credo is “We carefully select spaces that inspire.” The concept cleverly combines the design destinations of Düsseldorf and Hamburg with two boutique hotels in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg.
The first hotel, Stillwerk Hotel Heimhude (also known as the Grande Dame of sneakers), opened in 2020 and is located in Hamburg’s city center. Art Nouveau style villa in the middle of upper middle class villas, skillfully combining the special charm of the old. A building with an interior that is a collage of old and new.
Stilwerk Strandhotel Blankenese (aka Mysterious Woman in White) is another very special place in Hamburg. It is not located on the Alster or in the city center, but on a natural beach along the Elbe. Another old building from the early 20th century is kept alive thanks to renovations.
