This giant LEGO Venator from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith includes thousands of pieces and amazing details.
Star Wars is best known for its giant spaceships and battles. After all, it’s Star Wars. Of all the large ships featured in the series, none is as iconic as the Star Destroyer. It was first introduced in the original Star Wars and used by the Empire. Episode III: Revenge of the Sith introduced a new class of Star Destroyer used by the Republic, the Venator class.
The Venator is now an icon in its own right. In fact, it probably has more screen time than any other Star Destroyer, thanks to its use in The Clone Wars and heavily featured in the show of the same name. For fans of the prequels, it’s a typical Star Destroyer, unlike the Imperial class, associated primarily with the good guys and the Jedi. This impressive MOC brings the classic ship to life in stunning detail. Let’s take a look.
Giant Lego Venator MOC
This truly gigantic structure is approximately 7 feet long, several feet wide, and tall. It’s a chunky beast, built from tens of thousands of parts.
The interior space is detailed and built to minifigure scale. The outside is clearly not, built on its own scale. MOC was built by the talented willbricksproduction. Check out his other builds and logs on building this beast on YouTube.
Will’s Venator build is specifically based on the ship seen in RoTS, not the Clone Wars version. The exterior has many details, including electric doors and numerous lights. The turrets are highly detailed, with approximately 1000 parts for each engine. I really like the hidden detail seen in RoTS where the crew members hold their guns at the back of the ship.
Inside there are several rooms connected by minifigure-scale doors. The front section is a large hanger. Inside you can see a fleet of microships and scenes from the end of the Clone Wars. As you move further inside, you’ll find an armory, lounge, and storage room. The rear hanger can store a variety of combat items, including a minifigure-scale Clone Wars-era Y-wing. In addition to all this, there is also a small detailed bridge and a speeder hanger hidden at the bottom.

Here are some of my favorite details: the two large hangers, the clone troopers on duty, and the appearance of Ashoka.

Abe is an Austin local who was born and raised here. He continues to move around Washington, D.C., Japan, etc., but always seems to find his way back to himself in the end. Abe has decades of experience in a wide range of tabletop and RPG games, from historical games to Star Wars, D&D, and 40K. He has been contributing to BOLS since almost the beginning, when he worked at and then managed a local game store. He used to be obsessed with the competitive Warhammer tournament scene, but as he’s gotten older he’s settled down and now appreciates a good casual match. He currently covers 40,000 tactics and lore, as well as Star Wars in general, but occasionally dabbles in other topics. Prime Minister Abe continues to mourn the loss of WFB.
