Skyn Iceland has been acquired by beauty products distributor Americas.
The investment arm of the US company has acquired the Clean skincare brand from a group of French and Swiss investors for an undisclosed amount.
Americus will use its distribution and brand acceleration experience to grow the Nordic beauty business.
Sarah Kugelman founded Skyn Iceland in 2003, using Icelandic fruits, botanicals and mineral water in natural skin care formulations.
In 2022, entrepreneur Antoine de Larroque acquired the company through his holding company Impala, with the support of investor Jacques Veira.
The American transaction was advised by Parix Unlimited, Joel Parix’s boutique M&A firm, and Olivier Dupont, founder of the Olivier Dupont Law Firm.
“Palix Unlimited facilitated the acquisition of Skyn Iceland by Americas, a prominent skin care brand distributor in the US market,” Palix posted on LinkedIn.
“Americus…is a fast-growing beauty business specializing in omnichannel distribution across a variety of retail platforms.”
These include beauty retailers, pharmacies, department stores, and online channels such as Amazon, TikTok Shop, and Shopify.
As reported by WWD, Americus and Skyn Iceland said in a joint statement: “This new chapter in Skyn Iceland’s development returns the brand to its original positioning of Nordic beauty.” .
