Several people were killed in a terrorist attack on the headquarters of a defense and aerospace company in Turkey, the interior minister announced.
Local media reported that loud explosions were heard at the scene in the Turkish capital Ankara and aired footage of the gunfight.
Interior Minister Ali Erikaya: “A terrorist attack was carried out against the TUSAS facility in Kahramankazan, Ankara.”
He said it in X.
“Unfortunately, there are martyrs and injured people.”

The local mayor told Turkish television that three people were killed and five injured.
TUSAS (Turkish Aerospace Industries) is one of Turkey’s most important defense and aerospace companies, producing projects such as KAAN, Turkey’s first indigenous fighter aircraft.
It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack.
Kurdish militants, Islamic State and left-wing extremists have all carried out attacks in the country in the past.

Videos circulating on social media show residents ducking for cover as a large explosion is heard, followed by what sounds like gunfire.
One video taken from a parking lot shows people watching a short distance away as more gunshots are heard and dust fills the air.
Nippon Television said the group of attackers arrived at the entrance of the complex by taxi during a security change.
At least one assailant reportedly detonated a bomb and others entered the complex.
Surveillance footage of the attack, shown on local television, showed a plainclothes man carrying a backpack and an assault rifle.
Images showed that at least one woman was among the attackers and was armed with an assault rifle.
NTV added that gunfire continued at the scene and some of the facility’s staff may have been taken hostage.
Security forces, ambulances and firefighters were all called to the scene.
The employee was taken to a safe location, Haberturk TV reported.
TUSAS designs, manufactures and assembles civil and military aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and other defense industrial and space systems.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said: “We are deeply concerned by the reports of deaths and injuries in Ankara.
“NATO supports our ally Turkey.
“We strongly condemn all forms of terrorism and are closely monitoring developments.”
