Reed Architecture & Interiors will celebrate its anniversary with an open house on November 21st.
“We’re going to get together with all of our friends and give thanks for this wonderful milestone, and then we’re going to go out and enjoy the Route 66 Christmas Shoot,” Reed said.
Since our founding in October 2009, our firm has earned a reputation for delivering innovative, high-quality work that meets our clients’ goals, schedules, and resources. RAI focused on three fundamental principles and has maintained this through over 100 projects large and small:
Provided according to design. mind, body, and soul. Teamwork, trust, respect, joy and fun.
David loves explaining these phrases.
“This is our foundation,” he said. “Our mission is to provide service by design. We are in the service industry. My talent is not in preaching or dunking on basketballs. He has given me the ability to create a vision, listen to their needs and desires, and help them build on budget. He has given me the ability to help clients achieve their goals. .”
He believes this is best suited for projects that strengthen the mind, body, and soul.
“We embrace these projects,” he said, noting that RAI specializes in educational, athletic, recreational and religious facilities.
“That’s why we primarily work with schools and churches. However, we are happy to accept other customers if their needs, schedules, and budgets align with our availability and goals.” Reed said. This is how I serve my fellow man, my community, my Lord, and my Savior. ”
His mantra “Teamwork, Trust, Respect, Joy and Fun” outlines RAI’s core values. It also describes RAI’s internal and external work processes.
“We stress this not only within our team but also to our stakeholders,” Reid said. “Our core values share how we approach each project, our clients, consultants, stakeholders, regulators and observers.”
How do these ideals translate into everyday business practices?
“It starts with teamwork,” Reed said. “With each project, we strive to develop collaborative partnerships with our clients, consultants, and the communities we serve…in other words, everyone has a stake in the project. We bring them all together to form a team that is essential to success right from the start. Today’s business environment demands flexibility due to evolving technology, safety measures, and design trends. We need to respond, and teamwork is the best way to achieve that.”
The lead team then surveys each project’s stakeholders and hears their specific ideas.
“This gives us a solid understanding of our clients’ immediate and long-term needs and goals,” he said. “We use this knowledge to explore and refine different design options and communicate each step with the project team to maintain its clear values and goals.”
RAI uses his leadership role to align teams and strengthen the vision. This helps clients arrive at a design that meets the needs of their stakeholders. RAI then guides the team through the construction process.
“We will put in the time and energy necessary to ensure success,” Reed said. “Our teams have over 150 years of combined professional experience, all gained through partnerships like this. We use this experience to create compelling projects, and each complete projects on schedule and on budget.”
This process has resulted in many repeat customers for Reed Architecture & Interiors.
“When you focus on serving the needs of your clients and the community, it’s hard to go wrong,” Reed says.
Some of these efforts were done in partnership with Master’s Plan Church Design and Construction. For the past five years, the Tulsa firm has used RAI to develop architectural plans for clients across the United States. This led Reed to obtain building permits in 21 states.
He said working with Masters Plan and its founder Rodney James was “a natural fit.” “We both believe in serving our clients and guiding them through the entire design and construction process to deliver buildings within budget.”
Looking back on his career, Reed is grateful and humbled by the company’s success.
“I’m not sure I had a lot of expectations when I went out on my own,” he said of the 2009 launch. “And as for where we go from here, I don’t have a clear prediction. But whatever path we take, it will be done in faith, glorifying God, and intentionally I know he will serve our clients and the community, and I look forward to the opportunities he will bring.”

Our history in a nutshell:
Reed Architecture began in 2009 when David Reed founded David Reed Architecture in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David Reed Architecture provided complete architectural, interior design, and construction management services with an efficient four-person team. David Reed Architecture was awarded a contract by Tulsa Public Schools to design three high school arenas in its first year: Booker T. Washington, Edison Prep and Memorial High School.
In 2011, David Reed Architecture entered into a partnership with Oklahoma Hall of Famer Gary Sparks. Under its new name, Sparks Reed Architecture and Interiors, the firm completed numerous educational, sports, religious and commercial facilities, but no project was too large for it to handle.
Upon Gary’s retirement in 2020, David renamed the company Reed Architecture & Interiors and moved the office to Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
