Raymond Lifestyle plans to hire approximately 9,000 people over the next three years. The decision is said to be part of a strategy to open 900 new retail stores.
The clothing company aims to hire an average of 10 employees per store to support growth.
Founded in 1925, Raymond underwent a major reorganization earlier this year. The company has separated its lifestyle division from its engineering and real estate divisions. The move was aimed at streamlining operations, attracting new investors and improving access to capital for the lifestyle sector.
In addition to hiring at its retail stores, Raymond Lifestyle plans to increase its factory workforce to increase its clothing production capacity. Although details were not disclosed, the expansion comes as the global clothing supply chain has been disrupted, with Bangladesh, a major manufacturing hub, facing flooding and political instability.
Raymond, whose clients include global retailers such as J.C. Penney and Macy’s, has seen a surge in inquiries from international companies. With many companies reportedly looking to India to meet their sourcing needs, Raymond is positioned for continued growth in the global market.
