Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust plans to completely renovate the interior of the Ramkatha Sangrahalaya in Ayodhya and give it a new look.
The Ram Mandir Construction Committee meeting also decided to mobilize more manpower and technical experts to expedite the construction work. (file)
The trust hired an architect to renovate the museum’s existing structure without demolishing the exterior walls.
“We are planning to give the museum a completely new look. The entire interior will be remodeled without destroying the outer structure,” Champat Rai told media persons on Saturday. .
The high-tech museum will have a digital display of Ramayan-related documents and artifacts from the Ramayan era recovered during the excavations of the Ram Janmabhoomi Campus (September 2020).
Sangrahalaya was built in 2015 with a budget of Rs 1,231 crore. The one-story building is spread on a lot of acres and has 18 rooms. There are 150 artifacts from the Ramayan period on display.
These were recovered during the Karseva of Ram Janmabhoomi conducted by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad on July 22, 1992.
The Yogi Adityanath government handed over Sangrahalaya to the trust in October 2023.
Initially, the trust had planned to build a museum at the Ram Janmabhoomi campus along with the Ram Mandir. However, that plan was scrapped for safety reasons.
Also, the three-day meeting of Ram Mandir Construction Committee concluded in Ayodhya on Saturday.
Committee chairman Nripendra Misra was in Ayodhya to review the ongoing construction work of Ram Mandir.
During the meeting, it was decided to send more labor and technical experts to expedite the construction work.
