The ACB conducted searches at 10 locations related to Singh in Jaipur, Delhi, Ghaziabad and Hanumangarh on Saturday and continued searches at two locations in Delhi and Ghaziabad on Sunday.
According to sources, Singh was awaiting publication orders after the ACB raid. The raid was part of an investigation into allegations that Mr Singh had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. During the raid, ACB discovered various high-value assets including luxury cars such as Porsche and Land Rover Defender.
“When we received confidential information about his wealth and began investigating, the first thing we noticed were his Facebook posts boasting about luxury cars and expensive trips,” the source said. said.
Sources said Singh liked luxury cars and a lavish lifestyle. He was known to have connections within the bureaucracy, and some of the police officers were his former students and close friends.
Initial investigations indicate that the Porsche car Singh posted on social media was purchased second-hand, and the Land Rover Defender was purchased in the name of a close friend for 1.3 billion yen. Of the purchase price, 3 million yen was paid in cash and 1 billion yen was secured through a loan.
Chhatra Singh also traveled abroad frequently and stayed in luxury hotels. His father was a doctor and was married twice. His first wife lives in a house in Sodhara owned by Chhatra Singh’s family, while his second wife lives in a posh apartment on Ajmer Road.
During a raid in Vaishali Nagar in Ghaziabad (UP), luxury cars including Porsche and Defender were recovered and these cars were registered in the names of other people.
ACB will inspect bank accounts and lockers on Monday. ACB found eight bank accounts and three lockers in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Hanumangarh during the search. The team plans to inspect these bank accounts and lockers on Monday, October 21st.
The FIR registered by the ACB estimates the total assets to be around Rs 2,300 crore, which is around 85 per cent more than the known sources of income. This does not include the value of expensive cars or bikes. An officer said, “The cars and motorcycles are registered in someone else’s name.We will notify the registered owners and summon them for questioning.”
