Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who is set to welcome her first child with Ken Aker, has spoken about how her parole will affect her parenting. The former inmate and her boyfriend appeared on the latest episode of the podcast The Viall Files to talk about Blanchard’s post-prison life and pregnancy. The mother-to-be lives with her parents in Cutoff, Louisiana, and Aaker said he moved to New Orleans to be closer to her, living an hour away. They also revealed plans for co-parenting due to travel restrictions.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard reportedly served nearly eight years in prison for her role in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, before being released on parole in December 2023. She has since rekindled her romance with Ulkar, whom she dated while in prison, and is pregnant with their first child.
Gypsy’s Rose Blanchard reveals co-parenting plans with boyfriend Ken Aker
Pregnant Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed on the podcast The Viall Files that she and Ken Aker plan to co-parent until the end of her parole. Ms Blanchard claimed she felt “excitement” and “all sorts of emotions” after learning she was pregnant, but quickly discussed the technicalities with Ms Ulker. She also expressed frustration that even though they were together, parole restrictions meant they would “basically co-parent” their daughter once she was born.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard called the restrictions on her parole “standard” and then listed several other restrictions, including “travel permits, etc.” She said on the podcast that her current residence was “posing a problem” given travel restrictions. The 33-year-old then spoke “thoroughly” about her and Ms. Ulker’s plans to be “functional whenever the baby is born.” She said the common questions they posed were how many days each could spend with the other and who would take custody of their daughter, and it was a back-and-forth.
Ken Aaker then said that after learning that she was pregnant, he felt he “needed to be in Louisiana to be as close to her (Gypsy-Rose Blanchard) as possible.” “I packed up all my stuff and moved to New Orleans,” Aaker, who was living in Dallas at the time, told organizers. Blanchard’s boyfriend insisted she had been “happily ever since” and said parole would be “difficult” because they “couldn’t live together.” The couple is “not legally allowed” to do so, but that’s one of the big concerns.
Gypsy’s Rose Blanchard and Ken Aaker are expecting their first child in January 2025. Blanchard revealed on a podcast that she will be on parole until June of the same year.
