STERLING – It was shocking for a couple in Sterling to see their faith burnt down right outside their home. Blaine Bershad is Jewish.
“It reminded me of Germany in the 1930s, because this kind of tactic starts,” Bershad said.
And Will Sherwood grew up next door to the town of Sunset in Tennessee. “Fortunately, there hasn’t been any cross-burning or KKK activity in my town, but when I saw the video Tim took of the sign burning, that’s what popped into my head. “he explained.

On Thursday night, Tim, who lives next door, came home to find the Harris/Waltz, Elizabeth Warren and Jim McGovern sign on fire and called 911.

“I want to talk to you about issues. More than I want to talk about burning signs, I want to talk about health care, housing, things that really matter to everyone. But even if it’s not serious terrorism, Terrorism remains a problem.’ Terrorism,” Bershad said.
Sterling police are investigating. Although the blaze was quickly extinguished, the couple believes it was most damaging to local Republicans, many of whom they consider friendly neighbors.
“We should all be cautious.”

Once the couple completes installing more cameras, they plan to install more than three times as many signs as before.
