Textual description provided by the architect. At the 37th edition of CASACOR São Paulo, “De presente, o agora”, architect Natan Gil offers a unique experience by exploring the concept of tranquility in an environment that combines architecture, landscaping, decoration and design. This 1,528-square-foot space combines a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. The environmental journey is transformed into a cozy sensory space, and the project proposal is dedicated to quiet contemplation. This proposal suggests something different by making the presence of silence almost palpable.

The elegant minimalism of the environment is enriched by carefully selected elements. The art curation includes a blue mandala created by the architect’s fellow artist Marcos Coelho Benjamin, as well as minimalist furniture in shades of brown and off-white. All the furniture was designed by Natan himself in collaboration with Zeea Mobiliário. Exploring spaciousness through the integration of spaces, constantly referencing silence and intentionally creating a false sense of emptiness at various times. The author’s art installation is a large stainless steel sphere on the ceiling that aims to express the sense of vastness that silence gives us. The architect argues that the absence of sound can be disconcerting at first for many people, but by experiencing it people develop a new appreciation for silence, linking the material and the immaterial, and the It has been shown that children are encouraged to explore their surroundings and not just their physical surroundings. the depth of one’s own inner self.

The entire space is surrounded by a large greenery that is the main character of the work, inviting contemplation of nature. Landscaping is not just an aesthetic addition, but an essential harmony between the project and the natural environment. The lighting is integrated in an intelligent and balanced way, giving the work the necessary naturalness. The wall at the back of the room has a rustic texture that subtly stands out and breaks up the uniformity of the rest of the project, which has a continuous wall and ceiling of the same texture in light tones.
