SHREVEPORT/BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) — Three dog-themed events are bringing nine days of fun and competition to the Shreveport/Bossier City area starting this weekend.
First up, the Super Retriever Series (SRS) Dock Diving Championship will be held Friday through Sunday (October 25-27) behind the Bass Pro Shops on the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City. Dogs jump into a 45-foot pool for a chance to be named Crown Champion. The Super Fly and Super V portions of the competition are similar to track and field, with long jumps, high jumps, and a speed race called the “Raider Run.”
Competition begins at 9am each day. Free Jump Fun for pets begins at 10 a.m. on Friday (October 25) and Saturday (October 26). No registration is required to participate in the fun jumping.
Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may also bring your own chair.

On Saturday (October 26), the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and Visit Shreveport-Bossier will present Petpalooza under the bridges on the Louisiana Boardwalk from 1 to 4 p.m. . It’s a fun, pet-friendly day that supports local businesses and animal rescue efforts in the Shreveport-Bossier City community.
Petpalooza offers a variety of pet-focused activities, from market stalls to competitions, making it the perfect outing for animal lovers of all ages. The main activities of the event are:
• A “magic”-themed Pawject runway fashion show for pets (and their owners, if you want to match your outfit). Please register here.
• Halloween costume contest. Please register here.
• On-site pet adoption showcase
• Free rabies vaccination through PetCare Veterinary Hospital
• K-9 demo with Bossier City;
• Local vendors of pet-related products.
Following these events, the SRS Crown Championship will be held from Tuesday (October 29) through November 3 at various locations in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.
The Crown Championship offers retrievers (dogs) and handlers the opportunity to develop the best all-around team through hunting tests, field trials, and managing hunting proficiency situations in a competitive outdoor format. I will. Only artificial or simulated birds are used in this competition, giving all dogs and handlers a chance to maintain consistency and equality in testing and hunting scenarios.
