CHIBA, Japan , Oct. 14, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Petnow, a leading provider of pet biometric technology, will introduce the innovative Petnow app at CEATEC 2024, to be held at Makuhari Messe from October 15th to 18th. We will announce the Japanese version of. Chiba prefecture. The Petnow app allows users to identify their dogs and cats by recognizing unique biometric patterns such as dog noseprints and cat facial features. The app also features location-based services that allow owners to track and reunite lost pets.
Since its founding in 2018, Petnow has developed advanced AI-based biometric technology for pets. The company has been widely recognized for its innovative efforts, including the CES 2022 Innovation Award, the 2023 SuperZoo NPS Award, and the prestigious iF Design Award in 2024.
Main features of PetNow technology
Petnow’s technology is centered around identifying pets using their unique biometric patterns. The app allows pet owners to capture a dog’s noseprint or cat’s facial features on their smartphone, allowing for quick and accurate identification. Additionally, the app offers a lost and found feature that uses the user’s location to display lost and found pet reports on a map. The app’s AI analyzes reported findings and sends alerts to owners if a pet matching the description is found nearby.
Petnow’s biometric solution offers a promising alternative to traditional microchip implants currently used to identify pets. Unlike microchips, which require surgical implantation or special scanners, Petnow’s technology is non-invasive and does not cause discomfort to your pet. It is also particularly useful for animals such as cats that are not required to be microchipped. In France, Petnow has partnered with the national animal registry I-CAD and is currently discussing field tests to explore the app’s potential in the national registration system.
Junho Lim, CEO of Petnow, said, “In Japan, where microchipping of pets will become mandatory in 2022, we have seen great interest in the Petnow app, especially for pets that are not subject to registration requirements, such as elderly pets. This app has industry-leading accuracy in cat biometrics, making it extremely useful for cat owners.”
Following successful launches in the US, France and Germany, Pet Now aims to further expand its presence in the global market with its Japanese debut at CEATEC 2024.
