An exotic pet has been returned to its owner after an intense chase that was caught on police camera last month.
A police officer in Durango, Colorado, successfully captured a lost kangaroo and safely returned young red kangaroo dog Irwin to his family.
In a popular Facebook post, the Durango Police Department shared body camera footage of DPD officers Preskone, Walters and Hammer jumping to rescue Irwin.
In the video, officers can be seen talking to each other as a small red kangaroo jumps over an intersection and down the street.
One officer asked another officer out of frame, “Do you think it would be better to use your hands?”
Then she asked, “Do you have rabies?” Something would kick me. ”
The body camera video then cuts to the kangaroo safely making its way out of the streets of Durango and into someone’s arms.
