Dairy News – Interactive case studies and real-world applications in the Professional Dairy News, designed to help dairy producers review the progress of their operations and plan for continued growth and success. It is the basis of a new program offered by Product Producers® (PDP). The two-day business management and advanced finance workshop is tailored for dairy farm managers, consultants, financiers and other dairy farm support with varying levels of experience in human resources management and financial literacy.
Workshops will be held on Wednesday, October 30th and Thursday, October 31st at Compia Financial in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. Thursday afternoon: 00:00.
Course participants will strengthen their ability to implement best practices that advance their business with innovation and precision. Experienced managers will appreciate case studies and interactive discussions to facilitate the adoption of advanced practices. This course is also equally valuable for less experienced managers looking to deepen their knowledge and build their team’s expertise. All participants will leave with the tools and insights they need to take their operations to new heights of excellence.
“Those with extensive management and financial experience will learn how to better implement these practices, while those with entry-level experience will learn the practical ways to ensure their business functions with the goal of excellence.” “You’ll have a great strategy,” says John Haag. Chairman of the PDP Board of Directors and a dairy farmer from Dane, Wisconsin.
Core topics in the program include farm management proficiency, financial statements, financial metrics and simulation, cost and management accounting, and family business governance and growth management. To help participants get the most out of the course, each participant completes a pre-class assignment designed to assess their current application of course principles.
This workshop will be facilitated by Dick Whitman of Whitman Consulting. Mr. Whitman is a board chairman, transition coach and former manager of a 20,000 acre crop, cattle and timber operation in northern Idaho. He conducts seminars, workshops, and private consulting services for farmers and agribusinesses. His areas of expertise include financial and family business management, transition planning, consultant training, and conflict management.
