I started a new travel habit. No matter where you go, you have to stop at at least one antique store. Last weekend, while visiting family in New Hampshire, I bought two butter knives with mother-of-pearl handles. Do I need more cutlery? No, I bought it just for that reason.
This week’s guest editor, Delaney Lundquist (aka @tremont_home), is the queen of unearthing the most unique secondhand items from her home in Charlotte, North Carolina. (I mean, she once found a footstool with real feet!) I had to find out what she was excited about these days. Read on to find out.
Also, did you get a chance to learn more about Julie’s Bookworm Lectures earlier this week? You need your own cute clip-on light to read through Liane Moriarty’s latest novel. Now let’s move on to Delaney’s takeover!

What I’m loving right now: Painting decorative pictures directly on the walls (not wallpaper!). I love how the details in the home are visibly hand-finished. Small imperfections make me dizzy. It’s what makes a home feel personal and loved, and that’s what makes it the best home.
Also recommended for people who like DIY, folk art and the Bloomsbury Group.
Where I found it in the wild:
Artist Frances MacLeod does this in quite a few areas of her home, but her first project that stood out to me was the nook she painted. My friend Abby Miller painted stripes that are 10 times more attractive than any wallpaper. Scott Koch painted most of the apartment. Photo by Alicia Waite.

Three methods you might want to try:
I feel like smaller spaces like powder rooms, closets, and pantries make projects easier to manage, and their less obvious location increases the element of surprise and delight. To read more, please subscribe as an enthusiast.
