PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – More than 20 Pacific Power employees prepared to head to Georgia to help communities affected by Hurricane Helen.
Following a request for mutual assistance from Georgia Power, Pacific Power prepared to deploy crews, support personnel, and equipment to assist in restoring power. Crews and equipment will move from Medford, Bend, Roseburg, Astoria and Grants Pass. Support will also be provided from Walla Walla and Yakima.

The team, which includes 22 Pacific Power employees, will be equipped with 20 trucks and heavy equipment to help restore power to affected communities.
Pacific Power’s sister company, Rocky Mountain Power, also plans to send workers.
“Our crews have been working tirelessly and fully prepared throughout the deployment to restore power to Georgia customers and support other affected transmission line crews across the state. and we are ready to respond,” said Tom Eid, Pacific Power’s vice president of operations. “Disasters can happen anywhere. Responding to calls for help is part of being a good neighbor.”
