ALEXANDRIA, VA – As the name suggests, Cookie is a cute pup. She is a 1 year old, 37 pound female dog who wants to find a loving and safe home. When Cookie first arrives at AWLA, she is very shy and timid, but she is slowly becoming braver. As she gets more comfortable there, she shows her bubbly and outgoing side. She loves playing with toys (the more the better) and likes to lick busy boxes and mats. Once you reach her level, she may sit on your lap and try to smother you with kisses. She is learning to walk well on a leash and is responding very well to clicker training and cues like “sit” and “paw”. AWLA believes that Cookie thrives when she has a family that gives her the opportunity to develop self-confidence.
AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Avenue. Founded in 1946, AWLA has supported and served as a resource for homeless animals. The organization continues to be an integral part of the community by providing adoption, spay/neuter assistance, education, and advocacy opportunities.
