Hurricane Milton, which recently devastated Florida, was the ninth hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season.
Hurricanes are one of the most destructive weather phenomena, along with cyclones and typhoons, and are clouds and thunderstorms that originate in warm tropical waters and are typically 120 to 300 miles (190 to 480 kilometers) in diameter and driven by winds. It consists of a violently rotating storm system consisting of Over 119km/h (74mph).
The umbrella term meteorologists use to describe these storms around the world is tropical cyclone, but their more familiar names actually refer to regions with a culture of local population or a history of encounters. A unique name.
A hurricane is a tropical cyclone located in the eastern/central part of the North Atlantic and North Pacific, often affecting the east coast of the United States and the Caribbean Sea.

It is little surprise, then, that the word’s origins lie in the language of the indigenous people there, the Tainos, a subgroup of the Arawak people, natives of the Greater Antilles.
