For 30 years, Rossford’s neighbors have hosted a long-running autograph contest for presidential candidates. They agree to disagree.
ROSFORD, Ohio — Election season can have a strange effect on people. WTOL 11 reached out to the duo, who live next door to Rossford, and said there were signs of a duel between Trump and Biden during the election, and they have been fighting amicably for years. In this presidential election season, they’re at it again, saying they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Glenn Goss and his neighbors enjoy competing for Presidential Yard signs.
“He usually gets more autographs than I do, so I always try to get accessories like flags and banners. I even include my Donald Trump on the doorstep,” Goss said. said.
Mr. Goss said they have lived side by side for nearly 30 years, and for several of those years they have happily fought over politics.
“We’ve never argued about it. It’s kind of a fun neighborhood thing. You’ll always be my friend and neighbor, and I’ll be there for you. But we can agree on many other things despite our political differences,” Goss said.
Goss said this was never more true than when he lost a family member several years ago.
“My father and my neighbor died,” Goss said. “Democrat, he mowed my lawn while I was at a funeral. You know, he takes care of his neighbors, and I took care of his stuff. I know we take care of each other.”
Goss’ neighbors declined to appear on camera, but said they agreed when it came to politics. “It’s okay to disagree.”
“It’s all fun,” Goss said. “At the end of the day, we will still be neighbors and friends. We believe the world should change. As for whether governments are doing better for their own people. Now. , we don’t always look to see how it will turn out” – to the eye. ”
In fact, Goss says there’s only one more consistent feud between the two: who has the better turf.
“I always have better lawns, and my neighbor knows it, and I let him know it,” Goss said.
