“This mural is the first public art mural to be installed directly on the Waterway. It marks the heart of The Woodlands: the connection between residents and their natural environment, celebrating 50 years of living in a thriving woodland community. It reflects a seamless connection,” said Cindy Heiser, The Woodlands Township Board of Trustees. “The waterways illustrate how nature and urban life flow together, just as this mural represents the beauty, growth, and sustainability that has characterized The Woodlands since its founding. As we mark this milestone, the mural serves as both a tribute to our past and a vision for our future, a vivid reminder of the harmony between people and nature in the “Livable Forest.” ”
Believing that art should be accessible to everyone, Amy Malkan creates unique and vibrant art using traditional Indian bright colors and motifs such as mandalas and henna patterns. Masu. Driven by the motto “bigger is better” that makes her a true Texan, she enjoys painting on a large scale and uses her art to connect people and the spaces in which it is created. We act as a bridge between people.
“We are thrilled to celebrate The Woodlands’ 50th anniversary with a mural that embodies its beauty and richness. This mural is all about The Woodlands.” said artist and co-creator Amy Malkan. “This work was co-designed and painted by Aboriginal forest dwellers and residents, and also showcases the unique nature of the Woodlands. We hope you enjoy this mural as much as we do!”
Specializing in using words to create form, Marlo Saucedo’s art literally tells a story. She weaves together keywords, signatures, and thoughts to make art a collective experience for her clients. Saucedo believes that art exists to enrich your life and that you can also personalize your work by customizing it.
“I am thrilled that this mural truly reflects the beauty and history of The Woodlands. I would like to thank the community that has benefited my family and me so much for being a part of this project with Amy. I am honored to be able to give back,” Saucedo said. “We have loved living here and couldn’t be more pleased to be a part of creating this beautiful piece at Waterway.”
