Meteorologists prefer to predict that the Atlantic Basin hurricane season will last until November 30th.
That seems to be the case as we get ready to welcome the 11th month of the year.
The National Hurricane Center is tracking a tropical disturbance in the southwestern Caribbean that could develop further later in the week and disrupt travel again.
Forecasters are predicting an unusually active hurricane season, with up to 15 named storms already forming in Florida, including two storms less than two weeks apart, Helen and Milton. More than 3,500 flights a day were delayed or canceled due to Milton.
“This system will allow some gradual development while meandering or drifting northeastward over the southwestern Caribbean Sea until the end of next week,” NHC forecasters said.
As always, check with your airline for any changes and check with your cruise line for updates to your itinerary.
