I love playing and experimenting with new makeup. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not an expert when it comes to beauty. Watch a makeup artist apply makeup and try to imitate the process. I’d like to introduce you to my recent makeup routine and the items I used.
I wanted to show you the finished product, so please stop here if you don’t like the result. lol! The lighting was not very good as the overhead light cast strong shadows.
My recent makeup routine – blush
I took care of my skin and applied foundation and setting powder with my existing products. One of the products I used was the Divine Rose Blush from Jet Set Kit. This is a bright mauve rose blush that suits most women.

My latest makeup routine – eyeliner
Brush Stroke 24 Hour Liquid Eyeliner Pen
Don’t judge your eyeshadow until you’ve applied your eyeliner and mascara. Eyeshadow can be too bold or too much, but a “thin” eyeliner and mascara will make it look less bold. This is my second tube of MAC liquid eyeliner. I like that it’s very accurate and leaves a clean mess.

When I post, I sometimes get asked the question, “If you could only buy one product, which one would it be?” Without a doubt, my answer today is this mascara! I was immediately impressed by how easy the mascara was to apply and how it didn’t clump my lashes.

This photo shows how much of a difference mascara can make. You won’t even notice that you have eyelashes until you apply one coat of this mascara. I can’t wait for you guys to try this! I left it on overnight to test its staying power. The next morning, there was hardly any dirt under my eyes and my mascara looked the same as the day before. It’s also not bad since it’s under $30.

I have blonde eyebrows, so I need to apply an eyebrow pencil or gel. This eyebrow gel from HOURGLASS is colored and is very helpful. I used an eyebrow pencil to create the shape I wanted and then used brow gel to add a little color to set the look.

HOURGLASS Lip Liner – Flaunt 2
If you want your lip color to last longer, use a lip liner first. Flaunt 2 Lip Liner is a great neutral that can be used with many lipsticks. After drawing a line on the outside of your lips, color your entire lips with liner. Then apply lipstick or lip stain.
PAT McGRATH LABS Dramatic Mega Lip Pencil
I ordered three shades of the PAT McGRATH LABS Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil. Nude Venus is a neutral that I ordered to wear when rocking a smokey eye. The “rule” is to either do a bold lip or bold eyeshadow, but not both. Garnet Glow and Elson 6 are both bold colors, so I wear neutral and bright eyeshadows with them.

Pat McGrath Institute – Nude Venus Pat McGrath Institute – Nude Venus
The description calls this a lip pencil, but it’s bigger, thicker, and more similar to a crayon. Here are the steps to ensure this lip pencil stays on all day and doesn’t leave any marks on your cup. First, use a lip liner, then apply a lip crayon. Next, set the lip crayon with powder and apply the crayon again. This leaves it matte and slightly dry. So I sometimes put a balm or gloss on top to keep it moisturized.
Pat McGrath Labs – Gloss from Jet Set Kit
I like to add gloss as a final step, but I know that gloss will leave marks on the cup. I just apply a small amount of gloss in the center of my lips. It doesn’t extend all the way to the edges of your lips, but it’s enough to give you a nice glow.
