Mr. DIY, Thailand’s leading home improvement and lifestyle retailer, has taken a major leap forward in its sustainability efforts by introducing electric trucks as part of its electric vehicle (EV) transportation project. This initiative not only modernizes the company’s logistics, but also highlights the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.
Mr. Andy Chin, Chief Executive Officer, MR. DIY Thailand highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles. “For over eight years, we have integrated ESG into our core business, focusing on social welfare, community development and transparent governance. With 800 stores across Thailand, we We’re demonstrating that we can grow responsibly while keeping our promise of ‘everything, every day, at the lowest prices.’
DIY is focused on renewable energy, its sustainability strategy and the company’s “MR. DIY Cares” program is now in its sixth year. As part of this effort, the company has installed more than 300 solar panels in its warehouses, transitioned completely to electric forklifts, and recently added six EV trucks to its fleet. Mr. DIY plans to further expand its fleet of EV trucks and introduce EV pickup trucks for employee transportation. In addition, solar panels will soon be installed in many stores across the country.
The MR. DIY Cares program promotes energy efficiency within the company through a mandatory lights-out policy during lunch breaks and encouraging employees to unplug non-essential electronic devices after work hours. The company is also leading recycling efforts by converting plastic bottles into value-added products.
Through these wide-ranging initiatives, MR. DIY continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainable growth and clean energy adoption in Thailand and position itself as a leader in green retail operations.
