Révive has a new owner.
The ultra-premium skin care line founded by Dr. Gregory Brown in 1997 has been acquired by Chinese conglomerate S’Young Group for an undisclosed amount, Révive CEO Elana Dorrell Seifer said on social media Thursday. This was acknowledged in a media post.
Révive sells skincare products such as the $194 Moisturizing Night Renewal Cream and the $775 Peau Magnifique Serum at retailers such as Space NK and Neiman Marcus. It also has a presence on Amazon’s luxury goods store.
The deal comes amid a flurry of activity in the beauty sector. Private equity firm TSG acquired a majority stake in the influencer-founded company in August. L. Catterton acquired Latvian body care brand Stenders in September. Meanwhile, the premium line Dr. Dennis Gross was acquired by Shiseido at the end of 2023.
The sale of Revive is the second sale this year of the beauty portfolio of private equity group Tengram Capital Partners and HRB Brands, the group that owns brands such as the affordable hair care product line Alberto VO5. following its sale to Italian personal care company Sodalis Group.
Révive’s new owner, Jiangsu Province-based S’Young Group, is working to expand as a local distribution and e-commerce partner for international brands through acquisitions.
In 2022, it acquired the French luxury skin care line “Eviden de Beauté,” and took a minority stake in Pierre Auger, another French luxury skin care line.
