Bushtops Safari Camps, a family-run luxury safari accommodation, will be introducing a new seasonal Roving Bushtops Mobile Camp location in the northern Serengeti National Park from 1 June. The camp will now move between northern and southern Serengeti and provide the following services: It is also close to the Mara River, which provides great opportunities for wildlife viewing.

Roving Bushtops is a new store in the northern Serengeti, just a 15-minute drive from the Mara River and Kogatende airstrip. This strategic location provides visitors with an excellent vantage point from which to observe the dramatic river crossings that are the hallmark of the migratory spectacle. Additionally, the camp’s proximity to the Borogonia region is expected to increase the chances of rhino sightings.
Roving Bushtops alternate between two locations. From December to March, the camp is located in Kusini, south of the Serengeti. Occupy new northern bases from June to October. This coordination allows mobile camps to closely follow the migration patterns of the region’s iconic wildlife.
Environmentally friendly accommodation
The camp’s eight mobile units, called ‘rovers’, are solar-powered and carefully designed to minimize their impact on the environment. Fresh water is transported from designated sources to avoid straining local resources, and waste management follows strict sustainability protocols, including composting of biodegradable materials and recycling efforts.
Roving Bushtops’ new northern location also makes it easy to combine with other Bushtops properties. Located about a 40-minute game drive from Serengeti Bushtops’ permanent camp, guests can experience the best of both Tanzanians. Additionally, visitors can incorporate the Mara Bushtops, just across the border in Kenya, into their itineraries.
