Three “brave optimists” explain what a good, fulfilling life means to them.
LG believes that “brave optimism” is a quality that improves the lives of its customers. It is also the core philosophy that drives innovation. For the brand, a good life is a fulfilling life with many beautiful moments, both big and small. Viewed through the lens of courageous positivity, the concept that “life is better together” is a doctrine that derives from the idea of four distinct pillars of human existence: live, enjoy, rest, and feel. Cultivating these four key aspects of our daily experience helps us create a more fulfilling life for ourselves and those around us.

Please tell us more about the “Life Is Better When Together” campaign. What are the four aspects of a fulfilling life?
This campaign aims to create a better life for our customers through our philosophy of “Life Is Better When Together.” The experience of using LG products brings inner changes such as feeling less anxious, more confident, recharged, and uplifted. These invisible emotions warm your heart and give strength to your smile. In partnership with Digital Art Fair and digital artist Zenavi, we have opened the Jar of Life installation in Causeway Bay. The installation features vibrant digital art and a large-scale outdoor exhibition that highlights how LG’s innovative products can improve our daily lives in four regions. It expresses the interconnected aspects of living, enjoying, resting, and feeling. Each bottle symbolizes a part of life that our products foster, and when you consider all these aspects, you will understand the true essence of ‘life is good’.
What is the core message that LG is trying to express?
It’s about optimism and togetherness. At LG, we believe that all of life’s challenges and joys are part of a wonderful journey. A fulfilling life is not only about overcoming challenges, but also about cherishing every moment, whether it’s the comfort of a clean home, the joy of leisure time, or a restful night’s sleep. By integrating art, technology and lifestyle, we hope to inspire Hong Kongers to embrace “brave optimism” and realize that life can truly be better with LG. I am.
Brian Sisłojo – handsome factory founder

Do you consider yourself a “brave optimist”?
I always think positively, but it’s not just the desire to achieve something or the courage to try, I believe I can achieve it. In 2015, there were no barber shops in Hong Kong, so we aimed to establish Handsome Factory. Instead of thinking about the pros and cons, I believed in myself and was confident that I could make my business a success. Combining the will to succeed with belief in myself is what it means to me to be a “brave optimist.”
What advice would you give to ambitious entrepreneurs and creative souls looking to balance multiple passions?
The most important thing for me is that I love what I do and am passionate about it. If you really love what you do, it won’t feel difficult or challenging. You will be motivated and positive. If you are working on something just to make money, you will most likely not be successful. When you do something you truly care about, financial rewards come naturally.

How do you think you can achieve a “better life” by nurturing and balancing the four aspects of life?
I think of life as exercise. We need to promote healthier lifestyles and learn to persevere no matter how tired we are. You will feel the endorphins afterwards and it will feel rewarding. Lack of time is no excuse. No one has time. It’s not about having time, it’s about having the right priorities. For me, having fun means family, and I try to spend time with my wife, kids, and relatives. Rest is often overlooked, but just as important. Everyone needs sleep because if you are not well-rested, you will not be able to maintain a correct and positive mindset. Finally, emotion is passion. I trust my emotions in everything I do, and it’s not just your own emotions. Consider the feelings of others and learn compassion and empathy.
What does it mean to have a good life? How do you ensure that your daily choices and actions are aligned with this vision of a fulfilling life?
Loyalty is most important to me. Maintaining healthy personal relationships with loved ones, whether family or friends, should be a daily priority. To be truly successful, you need to take control of both your inner, personal life and your outer career and accomplishments. Never overlook the importance of this.
Gillian Howard – Digital Art Fair Founder and Global Fair Director

Do you consider yourself a “brave optimist”?
I consider myself a “brave optimist.” It may not feel like it sometimes, but every day is a new opportunity to reset and try again, and I never stop trying. Getting yourself down, getting back up and trying again is essential to success, and that’s what I do.
What made you decide to establish a digital art fair? Also, how did you overcome the challenges?
Pure positivity helped me overcome many of the challenges I faced when starting the digital art fair. It’s something I always wanted to do and at some point I stopped thinking about the worst outcome and decided to take a leap of faith. There were many conflicts, but I focused on finding a solution and did my best.
As a director of a global exhibition, how do you incorporate art appreciation into your daily life?
I have installed countless screens in my home and they all help me meditate. On the ground floor is a room that I use as a meditation space, with displays featuring my favorite art, music, and mindfulness apps to de-stress and focus on the present moment. You can.

How do you think you can achieve a “better life” by cultivating and maintaining a balance between living, enjoying, resting, and feeling?
To me, living is being intentional. I try to be fully present in the moment, whether it’s managing my business or spending time with my kids. It is equally important to enjoy the little things in life. It’s not about getting more, it’s about savoring the moments that matter. Rest is non-negotiable for me. Whether you meditate or simply take a break from screens, it’s important to recharge. Finally, on the emotional side, emotional well-being plays a big role in my life, not only for myself but also for my family. It’s about being careful with the choices we make. Because they all affect our emotions.
What does it mean to have a good life?
To me, a good life is one that is balanced, intentional, and aligned with what truly matters. I strive to live with purpose and stay in the moment, both at work and with my family. I value quality experiences and dedicate my time to activities that bring me joy and connection. Finally, I practice mindfulness to help me distance myself from material things and focus on what brings me peace. A good life is about living mindfully, making intentional choices, and creating moments of joy, no matter how busy you are.
