Are you having trouble choosing the right cleaning products to deal with stubborn stains on your sofa?
Lifestyle guru Natalia (@nataliia. sahm) has discovered an “interesting” yet effective method you can try using common household items you probably have sitting in your cupboard. I claim that I did. She posted a video on her TikTok account demonstrating her unique technique, sparking excitement among her viewers. Her video begins with Natalia picking up a dishwasher pod and dissolving it in a large bowl of boiling water.
She mixes it well with a toothbrush, then puts on rubber gloves and dips a microfiber cloth into the solution. After wringing out the cloth, she scrubs the sofa using the glass lid of the pot wrapped in the cloth as a solid base.

The clip records her diligently tackling the stain on the couch, occasionally rinsing and rewetting the fabric. At the end of the video, Natalia proudly shows off her newly refreshed sofa, which looks almost new.
“I found this interesting way to clean the couch and it really works!” she wrote in the caption next to her clip, which has been viewed by 13 million TikTok users.
Meanwhile, many of them provided feedback about Natalia’s hack in the comments section. “No way!” one TikTok user said in disbelief. “Aww this is amazing, thanks for sharing.” A second added: “Smells so good after cleaning.”
“Oh, this is genius,” wrote a third. And a fourth added their own recommendation to the task, advising: “If you have a white sofa, make sure to use white fabric.”
When a viewer asked which dishwasher pod was used during this process, another user chimed in by saying, “It’s definitely the Finish Powerball Ultimate pod. That’s the dishwasher pod I use.”
Packs of 50 are available at Tesco for £11.25 (£10 for Clubcard holders). This means that Natalia’s trick only costs around 20p.
On the other hand, if you want to clean a discolored pillow, there are easy ways to make it look new again. Carrie Higgins, author of Organization Hacks, has revealed tips for washing pillows as they are rife with bacteria and can grow mold.
First, it’s important to check the label to see if your pillow is machine washable, as certain materials such as memory foam aren’t suitable for washing, she advises. Next, put the pillow in the washing machine, but be sure not to overload it. We usually recommend washing two pillows at a time.
Next, add 250ml of white vinegar to your washing machine’s fabric softener drawer, followed by your detergent of choice. Carrie recommends using All-Free and Clear liquid detergents, which are unscented and contain no fragrances or dyes.
Set the machine to the warmest water temperature listed on the pillow label and run it on a gentle cycle. After the wash cycle, put the washer into the spin cycle to remove excess water from the pillow.
