It’s never too early to start learning about money management, but the key is to make it fun and playful.
The Louisiana Society of CPAs, in partnership with the Knock Knock Museum, will host a Gain and Learn Financial Literacy Weekend on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th. Children will enjoy valuable and fun lessons and learn age-appropriate ways to manage money.
The Earn and Learn initiative uses creative, hands-on activities to introduce children to financial literacy. These activities include earning wooden tokens by completing different tasks in 18 learning zones. Wooden tokens can be earned and saved or used in the Learning Shop.
Louisiana CPA volunteers assist and guide children through challenges such as working in a variety of settings, donating food, exploring career paths, and identifying money and making financial decisions. .
Economic decision-making activities involve considering the difference between wants and needs, making thoughtful choices, and contributing to the community. With volunteer guidance, children will gain a practical understanding of budgeting, quantifying skills, and prioritization.
This Earn and Learn Financial Literacy Weekend promotes learning through play and emphasizes the value of learning real-world lessons in creative ways.
