When natural disasters occur, Purina’s goal is to provide timely support to pets and people in need. In the wake of Hurricane Helen earlier this month, Purina announced a $25,000 donation to Greater Good Charities to support relief efforts. The donations helped fund emergency relief supplies such as food, medical supplies and hygiene kits for people evacuated by the storm, as well as funds to safely transport shelter pets.
The need is even greater in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Purina is responding to the storm’s impact by shipping more than 1,700 tons (equivalent to 130 truckloads) of Purina pet food and cat litter to provide to thousands of shelter animals and pets displaced by recent hurricanes. We continue to support the local communities that have received the support.
Purina Litter Facility in King William contributed to this significant donation, delivering 42,000 pounds (or 21 tons) of pet care products, including Tidy Cats litter. Purina established its business in King William in 1997 and currently employs a team of over 300 people.
