King Charles III, who is on a much talked about royal tour to Australia, is not allowed to go without a medical team.
The 75-year-old monarch will reportedly be accompanied by two doctors on a visit to Australia and Samoa, scheduled for October 18 to October 26.
According to the Times, two of the king’s doctors, who are suffering from cancer, will also join the royal entourage. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Prince William and Prince Harry’s father would be “pausing” his cancer treatment while he is overseas.
The newspaper said the long-awaited visit, the first to a Commonwealth territory under King Charles, would include “a number of concessions to prevent overwork”.
The monarch “will be closely monitored during the visit.”
Palace sources told the newspaper that the decision to pause cancer treatment was “in accordance with medical advice” and insisted it would resume once he returns to the UK.
The king was diagnosed with cancer in January after undergoing treatment for enlarged prostate.
Buckingham Palace announced that the King was diagnosed with cancer after surgery and will begin cancer treatment on February 5th. The palace said the king’s cancer was not prostate cancer, but did not specify the type or stage.
