King Charles is being forced into a daily routine that he famously rejected for years.
His Majesty, who was diagnosed with cancer in February, has made no secret of his penchant for skipping lunch.
According to the king, a midday meal is a luxury he cannot afford given his busy and demanding work schedule.

Much like the late Queen Elizabeth II’s corgis, the king’s dislike of lunch has become one of his most talked-about traits, making it one of the most talked about traits in a list of 70 facts published on the king’s (formerly Prince Charles’) 70th birthday. It is also officially recognized by Clarence House. . Self-explanatory, number 20 on the list is “The Prince Doesn’t Eat Lunch.”
MailOnline reports that the king was encouraged by his wife Queen Camilla, doctors and close aides to eat lunch to maintain his strength during cancer treatment.
The monarch was said to be “reluctant” to make the change, compromising by eating half an avocado at lunch instead of a full-sized meal.

While there is limited scientific research to suggest that certain foods can slow cancer growth or enhance treatment efficacy, patients may need to eat foods during cancer treatment to stay fit. It is important to maintain a healthy and balanced diet.
According to the NHS, cancer treatments not only disrupt the way cancer cells grow and divide, but can also affect normal cells, which can affect the immune system and leave patients feeling very unwell. It is said that it may make it worse.

“Eating well means eating a varied and balanced diet,” says the NHS.
“This gives the body all the nutrients it needs to function well during cancer treatment. These nutrients include protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals.”
King Charles is very particular about his daily meals.
Apart from his penchant for skipping lunch, the king’s peculiar preference for boiled eggs was also one of his unusual eating habits.
In Netflix’s The Crown, Camilla Parker Bowles (played by Emerald Funnell) tells a young Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) that “they made a grave mistake by refusing to take a soft-boiled egg on board.” It also refers to the monarch’s unique tastes, such as:

In a new interview, Tom Parker Bowles, the king’s son-in-law, gave rare insight into the king’s leftover food regime. “Everything is recycled,” he said. “If something is left over, it’s either made into something else or it shows up the next day. We don’t throw anything away.”
