Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday accused former President Donald Trump of being “exhausted” by his campaign schedule and argued that he cannot be an effective president without the stamina to run a campaign.
“He’s been avoiding debates and canceling interviews, which Harris’ own campaign team recently said was due to fatigue.” criticized the other person’s health. “When you’re exhausted from campaigning, you have big questions about whether you’re the right person for the world’s toughest job.”
The attack followed questions about whether President Trump was scaling back his campaign efforts due to physical or mental limitations. The candidate skipped an NRA rally in Georgia on Thursday after a flurry of media cancellations.
The Grand Rapids speech came a day after Harris made three stops in Wisconsin.
Harris became the Democratic presidential nominee after President Joe Biden resigned over concerns about his age. At the time, Biden was the oldest presidential candidate in U.S. history. If Trump wins in November, he will become the oldest president in history.
Trump responded to the jab by denying questions about his cognitive decline and denying reports he was confused.
“If you see me resting at all, please let me know. Not only am I not tired, I’m not tired. I’m really excited,” President Trump said Friday. “She’s not a smart person.”
