Internova Travel Group held its second UK Women of Internova event in Glasgow, focusing on a wide range of women’s health issues in the workplace.
Glasgow, Scotland – Internova Travel Group, one of the industry’s largest travel services companies, held a Women of Internova event at its Glasgow offices on Thursday, October 24, 2024. This is the second time the Employee Resource Group has hosted an event in the UK. Following the success of the first gathering focused on ‘Using Emotions at Work’ held in London in July.
Hosted by Nicki Tempest-Mitchell from Barrhead Travel and Kirsty Chan from Global Travel Collection, the session was held as an in-person meeting with employees from around the world participating virtually. The conference featured insightful presentations and a question and answer session led by Helen Tomlinson. The UK’s first government-appointed menopause champion.
This session, titled “Women’s Health in the Workplace,” explores how the conversation around women’s health extends beyond menopause, and explores the full range of health issues that impact a woman’s ability to succeed in the workplace. I worked on the problem. Helen Tomlinson explores how workplaces can help women reach their full potential by recognizing and addressing their diverse health needs.
“As we deepen the conversation about women’s health, it is important to focus on all aspects that can impact a woman’s career, not just a single issue such as menopause. This approach benefits women at every stage of their professional lives,” says Tomlinson.
The event also supported Dress for Success Glasgow, a charity that helps women return to work by providing professional attire and career support. Participants were encouraged to donate work clothes, shoes, accessories and handbags in good condition. This initiative follows in the footsteps of similar efforts by Women of Internova champions in the US to support Bottomless Closet and Smart Works in London.
Nicki Tempest-Mitchell, sales and marketing director at Barrhead Travel, added: By fostering a more collaborative environment and educating our collaborators about supporting women through different life stages, we can create a workplace where everyone can thrive. We are passionate about continuing to advance Women of Internova’s work around the world and are excited about the group’s future. ”
