Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath recently bought his first home, which sparked criticism as the entrepreneur has always insisted on renting rather than buying. As Nikhil Kamath’s real estate acquisitions garner attention, old photos of his rented house have surfaced on social media. This time, his rented apartment in Bengaluru, a sprawling 7,000 square feet architectural masterpiece, was painted in a negative light as social media users criticized its decor.
Who posted the image of Nikhil Kamath’s apartment on social media?
Lost in all this discussion about Nikhil Kamath’s house is the absolute farce that lies within.
Sir. I can afford to hire a much better interior designer/architect.

The reaction began after a PhonePe executive posted an image of an apartment on social media, mistakenly saying it was the residence Kamath had purchased. Rahul Gonsalves, head of design at PhonePe, called the interior of Kamath House a “total travesty,” and hundreds of X users agreed.
“What gets lost in all this discussion about Nikhil Kamath’s house is the absolute travesty of its interior. Sir, we can afford a better interior designer and architect,” Gonsalves said. on X posted a photo of the apartment Kamath was renting and said: Kingfisher Tower in Bangalore.
His images depict the luxurious interiors of Nikhil Kamath’s 7,000 square foot estate in Bangalore. However, the maximalist interior did not suit everyone’s taste.
What was the reaction from people online?
Many X users questioned the 38-year-old billionaire’s design tastes, with some harsh comments implying that wealth doesn’t necessarily equate to good taste.
Some observers were perplexed by the design philosophy, noting that each space appeared to have been designed by a different person. Some defended the interior, pointing out that Nikhil Kamath rents the apartment and is unlikely to replace the decorations. Here’s what people said in the comments:
😭😭😭
Is it better or worse than Ananya Pandey’s house built by Gauri Khan?
