I first heard about the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic event many years ago when I watched an episode of Bravo TV’s popular reality television series Blood Sweat and Heels in which the event was highlighted. It was. The show was about black career women in New York who were primarily featured in the media. To succeed in the big city. I was inspired by the sea of fancy hats, the elegant flutes of champagne, and the fine horses and handsome jockeys standing above them. This event has always had an air of splendor, tradition and grandeur, and I’ve always wanted to attend it ever since I first saw it aired on TV.
This legendary event was originally held at Liberty State Park in New Jersey, but has now expanded to the West Coast, specifically Will Rogers State Historic Park in Los Angeles, with a reimagined daytime soirée held on the first Saturday in October. It will be held. I was invited as a very special guest, so I got to dress up in my Sunday best, including a vintage powder hat, Moschino patchwork sundress, and clogs.

This year, the famous champagne house is unveiling a bespoke experience for an endless summer, with hand-selected tickets, a new cuvée and a blend of the sport of polo and Veuve Clicquot’s effortless Soler Art de Vivre. did. As a first-time participant, I was able to enjoy interacting with trendsetters and some of my favorite black celebrities, including Quinta Branson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jurnee Smollett, and Danai Gurira. I was happy. A day of sunshine, sports and celebration.

For this occasion, Veuve Clicquot transformed Will Rogers State Historic Park into a premier VIP sun club, engulfing us in an atmosphere filled with vibrant décor, joy, and the finest champagne, where we enjoyed Veuve Clicquot We enjoyed endless riches, rosés, and bruts. (I had to learn the correct pronunciation). After taking photos around the venue, my girlfriend and I settled into the VIP invite-only Sun Club. Not to be confused with the Picnic Lawn, which is located across from where polo matches were held. We observed the national anthem. Ceremonial ball toss by Erin Palmer Ramirez followed by Danai Gurira. After a few glasses of Brut, we watched a fast-paced match between Team Veuve Clicquot, captained by famous polo player Nacho Figueras.
The event also featured fine cuisine selected by Smorgasburg and Jean Humbert. My favorite is the beef fillet and corn beignets. We ended up making it in time for halftime during a polo match. At that time, we had to step yards (divots) into the ground, which was a lot of fun, as it reduced the risk of falls and injuries during play and allowed us to hit the ball farther. The day also served as a social time, with celebrities and trendsetters flooding the field from both sides to greet friends and take photos.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed the day under the Los Angeles sun, watching polo and drinking the finest champagne. I’m looking forward to participating again next year!
