Guntur: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Dr Penmasani Chandra Sekhar inaugurated the India Post Run – 2024 event organized by the Post Office at the Lodge Center on Sunday.
The event featured 3k, 5k and 10k marathons, which attracted a large number of participants to raise awareness about the importance of health and fitness.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Chandra Sekhar stressed that “A healthy India is a happy India” and urged the youth to stay away from electronic devices and focus on living a healthier lifestyle. He commended the AP Post Office for organizing the event to promote fitness awareness.
He also highlighted Chief Minister Nala Chandrababu Naidu’s commitment to fitness and encouraged the youth to follow his example.
Medals and prizes were awarded to the winners of the men’s and women’s marathon categories.
The program was attended by district joint collector A Bhargav Tej, Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) commissioner P. Srinivasulu, Guntur East MLA Dr Nazir Ahmed, Pedakurappadu MLA Bashyam Praveen and others. The event was a huge success with several dignitaries in attendance.
